Asia India & Himalaya
From the mad tooting traffic of Delhi to a soothing massage in the soft sea breezes of Kerala, from Kashmir’s cool green heights to Rajasthan’s baked plains, from Mumbai’s slums to Agra’s pristine Taj Mahal, India will batter your senses, blow your mind and enchant your emotions. It thrums with energy and industry, surging into the future while respecting the past, and teems with people, colour, ideas and traditions.
Cities and dusty villages, painted elephants and wild tigers, maharajahs and street sweepers, deserts and mountains: compare, contrast, and remember forever.
In Nepal and Bhutan, the mountains dominate not just the landscape, but the minds of the people. Spiritual, gentle, welcoming, they’re proud to share their culture, their monasteries and temples. Spectacular scenery includes hidden valleys, peaceful lakes and protected areas where rhino, tigers and leopards can be seen from the back of an elephant. But get out there on your own feet too: even in the Himalayas, there are walks to suit every ability, and each of them starts with a single step.
