For sheer romance, there is nothing better than travelling by train, unhurried views of ever-changing landscapes and life at an enjoyable pace. The selection of magnificent rail journeys throughout the world is huge, the biggest problem will be choosing which ones tempts you the most.

The Rocky Mountaineer in Canada is one of the most beautiful train journeys, and a must visit.

You also have the Shongololo Express which has a fleet of Mercedes Benz touring vehicles on board, so you sleep on the train at night and explore Africa during the day.
