Italy - Tuscany & Umbria

Let’s face it, the Italians have had a sense of style since Roman times. We’ve been grabbed by their architecture, food, fashion, smart cars and anything else from Chianti to Lambrettas and pizza to Pavarotti!

On a holiday to Tuscany and Umbria, I want the taste of La Dolce Vita. Whether it’s soaking up the arts and culture of Florence and Assisi, discovering little hilltop towns on foot or by bike, drinking espresso in a tiny tabacchi, cruising countryside that inspires the photographer in me, learning Italian cooking in a stone flagged kitchen or eating alfresco with gusto, it’s an adventure by osmosis.

After some adrenalin action by raft, kayak or horseback in Umbria’s National Park, I might sandwich some serious siesta in my very own villa, before finding a local trattoria for a must-try tastebud adventure; black Norcia truffles, tartuffe, wild boar and Orvieto Classico –once favoured by Kings and Popes…. and me!
