Turkey

There’s nothing wrong with trying a genuine Turkish Bath or Turkish Delight, but there’s a whole lot more to talk Turkey about than that! Known as the Crossroads of Europe, if Turkey were a colour it would be turquoise, just like its warm coastal waters where you can cruise to Bodrum, Marmaris and Oludeniz on a traditional gulet.

Istanbul’s Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace, the white terraces of Pammukkale and the staggeringly steep amphitheatre at Pergamum are un-miss-able, but the Ruins of Ephesus, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, are exceptional.

You’ll be fascinated by the “fairy chimneys” of Cappadocia which were hollowed out for shelter, the underground city of Kaymakli and the exquisite frescoes in the Goreme Open Air Museum. But the most memorable thing you may do, is make a pilgrimage to Anzac Cove at Gallipoli.

Join centuries of conquerors, traders and travellers to the ancient monuments and extraordinary beauty of the Lycian Coast. Walk the rugged coastline, kayak over the sunken city of Kekova, visit the Saklikent Gorge or revel in a stay put holiday around Kas visiting Finike, Olympos and the burning stone of Yanatas.
